The Volkswagen New Beetle RSI (9CAXJ) is a sporty, limited-production version of the popular German compact hatchback. The name New Beetle comes from the nickname 'Beetle' used on the older Volkswagen Type 1 cars. The New Beetle was based off of the Concept One (1994) and the Concept 2 (1995) concept vehicles. The production version of the New Beetle was introduced in 1997, with the RSI first released in 2000.
The New Beetle RSI makes an appearance in Tokyo Xtreme Racer 3, and is unlocked when you defeat The Flame (M/R team leader). The RSI features a 3.2-liter V6, 6-speed manual transmission, Remus dual exhaust, Volkswagen's 4motion 4-wheel drive system, body kit, rear spoiler, orange leather Recaro bucket seats, carbon fiber/billet aluminum interior trim, and a choice of silver or blue exterior paint.
