Midnight Rose is among the first potential Stage 2 (Zodiac) boss rivals encountered by the player after defeating Speed King. She issues a challenge when the player has defeated enough of the Kanjo focused racing teams. She drives a heavily modified Mitsubishi GTO (3000GT) styled to look similar to the classic Ferrari 288 GTO.
Her high acceleration can be problematic, but the relatively heavy weight of her car, coupled with the technical sections of Kanjo (a.k.a. the C1 loop) and the presence of traffic, usually makes winning against her easier (if the player has a stable, light car suited for the course).
If by chance the player challenges her along the Wangan (i.e. from the rivals menu), she tops out at approximately 250 mph.
