Kaido Battle 2: Chain Reaction (街道バトル 2 CHAIN REACTION, or 街道バトル 2: チェーン リアクション, Kaidōbatoru Tsū Chēn Riakushon, lit. Highway Battle 2: Chain Reaction), also known as Kaido Racer (街道レーサー, Kaidō Rēsā, lit. Highway Racer) in the PAL regions by Konami Europe, is the second game in the Kaido Battle PlayStation 2 spin-off series of Shutokou Battle. It was released on February 26, 2004. In Korea, it was released on May 15, 2004 by Mega Enterprise. The PAL release was released in November 2005. It is best known for not being released in the United States of America. The reason why it was not released in the US is unknown.
Plot[]
The story is set after Kaido Battle/Tokyo Xtreme Racer Drift, Tokyo Xtreme Racer Zero and 3, but before Kaido Battle : Touge No Densetsu.

The year 20XX.
Mountain passes became high-tech circuits, equipped with safety devices. Now recognized among street racers, it became the ultimate stadium for car battles. Another day begins and racers gather at the circuits, all trying to be the best. The roar of the engines echo through the mountains...
Since Koukami defeated Hamagaki, the former Emotional King, new racers appeared and new circuits opened (Akagi, Zao...) and Koukami is now the new Emotional King.
Some Slashers have returned, such as MMC Ooaza and Haruna Guardian, some have moved like Lonely Wanderer, and others have come.
Reception[]
In Japan, Famitsu scored Kaido Battle 2: Chain Reaction a 33/40. It sold 91,785 copies in Japan despite its good score.
Trivia[]
- The intro movie of the game features a shortened cut of the song "Find Your Dream" by Leo.
- This is the first Kaido Battle game where even its international versions, the race countdown features "Prepare for struggle" just before the race start.
- This is the first game in the series where full distance battles without affecting SP are introduced.
