In the US version of the game, all of the cars will come with Massachusetts license plate 997XNE on it. In addition, all of the rivals' license plates also read Massachusetts 997XNE. In US versions of TXR titles prior to Tokyo Xtreme Racer: Zero, the license plates on the cars were US plates (not Japanese ones) and the state on the plate could not be changed.
In the Japanese version, cars have Japanese license plates.
